KANSAS TROUBLES

(Block L-8)

1. From background fabric, cut:

4 squares 1¼” × 1¼”.

10 squares 15/8” × 15/8”. Cut each square in half diagonally once to make 20 small background triangles.

2. From dark blue fabric, cut:

2 squares 31/8” × 31/8”. Cut each square in half diagonally once to make 4 large dark blue triangles.

12 squares 15/8” × 15/8”. Cut each square in half diagonally once to make 24 small dark blue triangles.

3. From light blue fabric, cut:

2 squares 15/8” × 15/8”. Cut each square in half diagonally once to make 4 small light blue triangles.

2 squares 31/8” × 31/8”. Cut each square in half diagonally once to make 4 large light blue triangles.

4. Pair each large dark blue triangle with a large light blue triangle, right sides together, and sew along the longest edge to make 4 large triangle-squares. Press. Repeat with the small dark blue triangles to make 20 small dark blue/background triangle-squares and 4 small dark blue/light blue triangle-squares. Press.

5. Sew 3 small dark blue/background triangle-squares together to make a row. Press. Repeat to make a total of 4. Sew the remaining dark blue/background triangle-squares together in pairs and attach a dark blue/light blue triangle-square to each to make 4 mirror-image rows. Press.
